Hi. I'm Cass. Sometimes Cassandra. Fyrasha on the internet. There is an LJ for 'Fyrasha' and that is also me - it holds writing projects. If you know me, post here and I will add you - anything that matters on this LJ is friends-only, due to past experiences and current paranoia. Let me know who you are, unless I will immediately know from your username, because I don't add strangers. Also let me know if you want to be on the 'TMI' filter - I sometimes post things about sex or kink and I get that not everyone wants to hear about it.

Asked for a ereader for xmas from my parents, mainly so I could get etextbooks for school, save money, save weight to carry around, right?

Decided that Kindle had a slightly better deal than Nook, as their etextbook selection was slightly larger.

Got a Kindle Keyboard (brand new and shiny) since I dislike touch screens.

Went online today, bought a textbook for my Kindle. Went to download it onto my Kindle, got a 'not compatible with this device' error.

After a while with tech support, it became clear that 'Oh this book isn't available for this Kindle, only for the Kindle Fire. Most larger books are that way. You should go buy a Kindle Fire.'

First off, making books available only to certain Kindles? Bullshit. Not saying this ANYWHERE on either the Kindle or the book itself's order page? Even bigger bullshit. They lead you to believe that you can get any Kindle book for any Kindle, but I guess that isn't the case.

I don't want a Fire, I wanted a Kindle Keyboard, but that's apparently useless, since most of the books I'll buy are going to be larger books that won't run on it!

I got them to return the ebook. I can't return the Kindle through them, only through the store I bought it at. Which is overseas. And I already tossed out the box as the device worked.

I asked them where I could send in a complaint and got the response "Oh, we don't have a number for that sorry! Have a nice day!" Customer service fail much?

I tried to find anywhere on the website to send in a complaint. After quite a bit of digging I found a help section with a link to a 'feedback' page. When I clicked on said link, it gave me a 'Thank you for your feedback!' page without actually letting me put in any feedback, so I can't even COMPLAIN.

Oh hai, Barnes and Noble, would you like my exclusive business from now on?

Also, anyone know if it's even possible to return an Amazon gift card? Got that from other people for xmas since I told them I was getting a Kindle. >_

If we met at Camp and you now have my LJ and you want to actually be able to read entries, reply here with who you are and I'll add you. I'm going to assume if I met you at Camp that you want to be on the 'kinky' filter as well.

Free Transport to Anywhere: Rooms Needed For Katrina Animal Victims!

Transport Provided to Anywhere - Rooms Desperately Needed! (For the Animal Victims of Katrina) There is transportation provided, with people ready and waiting, for upwards of 200 dogs and 150 cats so far rescued from the devastation of hurricane Katrina. What these animals need is a place to go. Kennels, boarding, vets offices, shelters with any extra space, foster homes and rescues. Even one or two open kennels would greatly help.

From what we know, all animals have been vaccinated and are in good health considering the conditions. There are dogs and cats of every breed and
size. Some are in groups of two, three or four, hailing from the same family, while some are solitary. ANY KENNEL SPACE AVAILABLE CAN CERTAINLY BE USED. These drivers are willing to move these animals ANYWHERE they need to go. Absolutely anywhere.

The current safe houses for these animals are being inundated and some of these pets will have to be euthanized if they are not moved to make room for the incoming animals.

Please feel free to pass on this information everywhere. Every forum, every list, every community.

If you know anyone, anywhere, that is willing to take in even one cat or dog, please have them contact Lynda at the information provided below. They are also asking for ANY kind of donations for the animals - money, food, bedding, water, etc.

Please Contact Lynda V. at: 203 515 3024 (cell)

Apparantly, he thinks gargling with hydrogen peroxide to cure a canker sore is a good idea. Never mind that little detail where it's POISONOUS. After spending a bit of time worshipping the porcelain god though, i think he'll live...

But he shall be mocked mercilessly!

Because, well, that was STUPID.

You lose, Matt.
